I would like to polish my wrinkle-black brake calipers on my '94 Lowrider. What would be to polish these out? What things should I look out for? I spent hours sanding the wrinkle black on other parts, and I don't know how paint stripper will react to the seals. Has anybody else polished out their calipers?
I'm no expert but I just finished polishing a set of sliders and they turned out great. I think the calipers are rougher castings, not machined as smooth as lower legs are so you might be best starting with a small flapper wheel. Chemical stripper would probably wreck your seals and would still leave you with an awful lot of sanding if you are going for a polished finish. Would love to see your finished product.
