How long is a tire life of an original Harley Tires?
I have an XL1200C 2004 with only 2,000 miles.
That's 8 years of mostly sitting and doing nothing.
The side wall of the front tire seems to be cracking a little bit so I am assuming that is is done for.
However, what is the life cycle of a tire? Just a curious question because non of my auto tires lasted that long...
If they are both original I really do recommend you change both. Rubber deteriorates over time, goes hard and gives less grip. Also the latest tyres are improved over those when they were new, so you win twice over with a new set.
Nice, the problem is that I am selling this bike and wanna make sure that dry rotted tire is replaced.
I am sure that the rear is probably a lot less grip by now since it is so old but I am not too sure how much the new owner wanted to spend.
Either way, I will talk to him!
