You should check it every ride, which I don't do. But I always check it at least once a week, more if I am on a trip. The tire is the only thing between you and hitting the road.

I am not one of those guys who thinks you have to do your own wrenching to ride. But you got to have a little common sense, and check your tires, lights and controls every once in a while.

You don't have to be a ***** about it.

Obviously if you take a look at some of my other threads, maybe you'd realize I'm not an idiot.
I never check my truck tire pressure. Why?
Because in a properly installed tire with no issues, air leaks shouldn't happen.
And if they do, it won't add air, air will be removed, such is physics.
So if I see no physical signs to check it. (remember in my first post when I asked if it was normal wear) yeah, I'm going to ride rather than waste time checking my tire pressure. Been doing it for 3 years and no issue
I'm aware it may not have been cared for correctly. But **** dude, give a guy a break. Are we really in kindergarten? Is name calling nessecary.
****.

You're a pro I guess. On behalf of the entire forum and the thousands of years of combined riding experience I'd like to apologize for any hard feelings.

It's true, a tire lose's air over time. A known fact, under-inflated tires build heat, which leads to premature failure. Thats why all the road gators on the highway from trucks, under-inflated tires due to driver negligence. I owned 22 tractors and trailers at one time, and the drivers too lazy to check the pressure even once a week, cost me a lot of money for tire repairs. The ones that went thru a shop and had pressure checked very seldom had a problem, unless picking something up off the road.

Question

Anixon, I hope you are pulling our leg. I am pretty paranoid about having a blowout, so I use TPM valve caps. When I installed them on my FLHTCUI, they were ripped off by the rotors. The front leaked until I was down to 5PSI. I stopped because it was impossible to steer. BUT JUST LOOKING AT IT, IT LOOKED FULLY INFLATED BECAUSE MOTORCYCLE TIRES HAVE STIFF SIDEWALLS. So basically a visual inspection tells you nothing.

A word to the wise is sufficient. I'm done.
