I have had my bike for going on 3 years. when i bought it, the guy didnt say anything about putting new tires on, nor how long untill i should probably replace the tires.
This being my first bike, I have no idea at what point a tire is dangerously low on tread.
And it seems like my tire is getting to the point. there is a little tread left on the sides, I'm just afraid that the tire could pop while I'm driving.
or will it start to bulge first?
I am slightly on a budget and have no idea how much getting a new tire put on would cost.
yes that 1 should be replaced as soon as you can get it done. when the tread is all gone the rubber is much thinner and more prone to a puncture. plus it will be real slippery if you should get caught in the rain.
I was surprised how fast my rear tire wore out on my 2003 FLHTCUI. This is my first tire after 6200 miles.
Tomorrow I am getting my 2nd rear tire replaced with 6500 miles. I have more tread than last time, as I have been checking more frequently. I could probably get another 500 miles out of it, but am replacing during my 15k. I got a little better miles out of this one, by blipping on downshifts, and less practice panic braking.
Your tire seems to have uneven wear. Ask why that is. And if you don't know service history change your 3 use bolts.
I had it in for a full checkup last year s it was at about 34-35000km if that makes a difference.
I was curious about that, and I will ask them. maybe it was inflated too much?
But I've never put air in it, and like i said, it was at the shop last year, so I'd assume they'd check the sort of thing like tire air pressure.
