This may be an old repetitive request, but I want to reinstate my 2005 FLHRPI Police bike to a standard Road King and get rid of the ABS system.
Can anyone comment on the issues and experiences doing this removal/deactivation.
Is it more of a remove and discard or..??
I'd like to put standard Harley saddlebags on this bike but the ABS unit take up megaroom on RHS.
Thx all,
Jim
Hi Jim, I doubt if you are the first to do this, but I can't help thinking the place to start is a suitable factory service manual. That may have both ABS and non-ABS bikes in it, but will at least give details of what the entire system is made up of, hence what you can discard. By the time you have disconnected the related electrics and removed the hydraulic stuff you should find that a set of braided hoses will reconnect everything OK.
