Michelin Commander II's, Metzeler ME880's, Avon's, there are plenty of good choices. At this point in time the best question to ask yourself is what is more important...tire mileage or tire stickiness and feel on the road as they can both vary greatly depending on the brand of tire that you choose.
I prefer a sticker tire that will not give as much mileage as the difference in the feel of the bike on the road, the way the bike falls into corners, etc is far more with it to me. However, if you are a long hauler who does 1000 on the highway every weekend you might feel differently.
Tires are not inexpensive and the more you ride the more they will need to be replaced. I ride daily and still prefer a sticker tire and always will. My personal opinion is that stock tires that manufacturers put on the motorcycles are far drom the best handling tires and always have and will be. This is not meant as az put down, it is merely my opinion. It is difficult to keep the entire demographic happy with once tire.
