Slow leak/ Flat Tire

Slow leak/ Flat Tire
All I can figure is one of those Damn City Pot holes got me!!!
Not sure what happened nothing stuck in tire so assuming the above...
Gonna take it off tonight and soap it up.
My question is this,
The tire is a brand "NEW" Dunlop Touring elite on a 21" spoke rim.
Shortly after leaving the City I screamed up the highway about 40 miles.
Made a quick 8 minute stop came out to a flat tire.
Not sure how long it was significantly low but it started showing wear into the upper sidewall.
I'm Hoping it just broke the Bead and I can re seal it, Any chance the sidewall has been compromised???
