Brakes are like tires. It all depends on the rider. I get 18-19K on a rear set and about 8-9K on fronts. Never engine brake and 80/20 brake front/rear.

On the wifes cage she gets 20K on a set of pads and destroys rotors every other change. Her current cage has 75,000 miles on it and she has been through a 40,000 mile set of tires, second set were also 40,000 mile tires and the 30,000 mile tires that are on it now need to be replaced soon.

Its all on the operator. One safety note. It is obvious you rear brake more than front brake. You might want to take a MSF class or relearn how to brake a bike. Rear brakes have very little braking power and are only there to help out. If your first reaction in a panic brake is to stomp on the rear good luck when enough weight transfers to the front tire.......

I had my rear brake pads replaced at 25,000 miles.

I've had good experience with Lyndall brake pads - long wear and less brake dust (both front and rear)

I just replaced my 2011 SG stock pads front and rear @ 31000 miles with plenty of wear left before even getting to the wear indicators.
I put he Lyndall gold+ on. I had the Z+ racing on the 03 heritage and loved them.
FWIW it takes less time for me to change pads than for the dealership to do up paperwork for a brake job.

Now, I'm thinking why my pads last so long and y'alls don't. I only weigh 175lbs and ride solo 100% of the time.
Who else wants to weigh in on this?

Replaced my 09 Ultra Classic rear brakes at 22,053 miles and as someone above stated, I realized that I was using my rear brakes more than I should have. I have consciously tried to use my fronts more. I currently have 35,300 miles and the fronts are ready to be replaced.
