Hello everyone. I am a newbie to the forum from NJ and have a couple of questions. I suffered a bent front rim on my 2009 Rocker C. It is the original 5 spoke style. I have the extended service plan and my local HD dealer ordered me a new rim at no cost.
My problem is that my original rim on the bike, (bought used from dealer), was chrome plated. The rim that was shipped was chrome polished. They told me that the original chrome rim from PT is now obsolete and that if I wanted to have it plated it would cost around $550.00! Needless to say I was taken back by this. I am at a loss. I am hesitant on straightening it unless it is cost effective and do not know where I could have it done or if it is even worth it.
Does anyone know where I could get a front rim chrome plated at a reasonable price with a decent turn around time? Also I heard there is some kind of a rim exchange site that will take my chrome polished rim and exchange it for chrome plated one. I don't know if this is true or not but if so does anyone know a place or website that does it?
Thank you in advance for all help and replies.
