What kinda miles you getting from Michelin Scorchers?
I'm right at 9k miles and still have a good 1/8th inch on the center groove on the front tire, slightly more on the rear one and will be replacing them soon. I was wondering if the miles I'm getting on them justify the freaking cost. Being an HD exclusive the dealers don't like to deal on them. Been looking at the Michelin Commander II's.
I have been very happy with the commander II's on my heritage. They are like night and day from my factory dunlops. They required no weight at all for balance. You dont feel and groves in the road with them. And they are wearing very well. Ive got 4000 miles on them and they don't look like there is any wear on them at all. Excellent choice on the commanderII's
I'm at 5k, am religious w/the air They seem to be wearing well and I really like the feel of em' on the road, I would like to replace w/same but DAMN they are pricey.
The size is the issue, I've been looking at the Night Dragons..
The price is frightening on the scorchers for sure. I did the google thing and found a shop in Utah that listed the rear scorcher for under $280. Should have bookmarked it. Heck of a drive for me to save $80.
bobg03 I have been looking at the Night Dragons too. Why is it the 2012 Wide Glide seems to have issues with finding right sized parts? Every time I look for something and check fitment they always say fits everything but FXDWG. Or so it seems.
I found the Michelin Scorchers for my bike online at New Castle HD in PA. They were $100 cheaper than the price quoted on the HD website. Shipping was quoted at $30. I gave my local shop the chance to match it and damned if they didn't beat it. Enough to cover half of the labor to put both of them on.
They have 9600 miles on them and I'm sure they would go for another 500 or so if I needed to push them. I can't compare them to any other tire but I'm very happy with them.
I got 6500 out of my rear it had 3/32nds left when i got a screw in tire. Front still looks good at 7800 miles. I do like they way the ride so had the same put back on.
