I have a 2007 Dyna Street Bob that i just bought 3 days ago. I went on a little ride today and it was good untilI stoped for a while and then I started it up again. the check engine light came on alot and it sputtered thru all the gears. Also when I would come to a stop it would shut off, and was hard to start again. The engine light has come on before on a previous ride. Like i said i have only had the bikeabout 3 days. I know the bike it fuel-injected so i only let it warm up for about a min or so, Do I need to let it warm up for longer? I am going to tkae it to the shop on Tuesday if it will make it. Not really the best tast for a first Harley. Any info would be appreciated.
A friend of mine has a dyna and we were sharing Harley stories(true ones) and he told me about how his dyna vibrated so much that it broke or disconnected a wire underneath the gas tank that went to the manifold........ran like a tird much like what you are describing. His was brand new as well.
BTW, I have a nephew named Matthew Williamson.....
My Ultra Classic did the same thing.. If you pull the codes and have a temp sensor problem look at the temp sensor at the rear of the front cylinder and verify it's plugged in. Mine had the harness ran on the outside of the horn bracket which made the plug pop loose. If thats it reroute the wire to the backside of the horn bracket and re-plug in the sensor. You'll also have to clear the codes. This can be done using the speedo and reset button (search the forum for info) Hopefully thats all it is, like I said mine had the same conditions.. Good Luck
