Default Another Springer Bob

Found this on another forum -link to another springer Bob http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...scension/Bike/
IMHO needs to lose the crash bar though. First suicide shifter I've seen on a Bob. Pretty cool.

KPREESE'S Spring Bob looks WAY better. Kudos to this other guy who pulled it off though. IMHO this version looks like it's part of a fence and not a motorcycle.

I agree. KBPREESE'S is the real deal. Can't blame the guy for trying to be different, apparently he is still working on it. Here's a closeup of the shifter.

I've "met" this guy on another forum too, I'm sure the same forum you found him on. He actually lives maybe an hour away or less. He said when is finished with the bike that he'd like to meet up somewhere. That was at least a month ago but I think he's still working on it. If that meeting ever happens I'll be sure to get some pictures. He's done a lot of unique things to the bike and I'm not sure the pictures in that gallery show everything.

A few tidbits:
1. He said he WON'T remove the crashbar, no details given but he clearly wants it on there. It definitely is a distraction that doesn't fit with the twisted, wrinkle black custom work he's done. He just may end up changing his mind about that before it's all said and done or perhaps he's planning to make a twisted, wrinkle black version.
2. The springer is a Jeri's Springer. The guy does amazing work and will do pretty much anything you want. His stuff is expensive but Iactually spent more than any custom made springer I priced out including Sugar Bear and Jeri. It's just a preference thing, factory look or total custom look. We went opposite directions on that but both work in my opinion.
3. The hand clutch hasn't been fully worked out yet. He used a hydraulic clutch but wants the use of both the bar mounted clutch and the shifter mounted clutch. He hasn't solved that tricky little problem as of yet so I *think* he sets it up one way or the other for the time being. I'm curious to see what he comes up with eventually.

He's just got a different sense of style. That bracket that the jockey shifter is on is just strange looking to me.But when it's all done and we see some non-garage pictures of the whole thing, I bet it'll look good. It's just cool to see anyone do something unique with the Dynas. I definitely wouldn't want everyone doing things to suit my tastes or things would get boring FAST.

Would he be sitting on a fence then?

Not sure I'd want to ride that fence! Interesting (perhaps?) ideas, but you're right - kinda mixed metaphors going on here. He should've checked out Kpreese's first!

When I saw this bike a little while back in the other forum, it raised an interesting question that I almost posted here. If people start a thread and ask "what you think of my mods", what's the protocol? I guess if you really like something that's been done, then it's easy to compliment. But what if the mods look like someone drove a Honda CB750 into a iron railing? Do you just say nothing, or do you tell them what you really think?

Lie and tell emyou're not sure.

That one looks like crap to me, and I ain't lyin.

I do have a lot of respect for the effort going into the project.
Not my style, but it ain't just bubblegummed together.

I would like to see it in the real world, probably look a lot better.

If a person asks, speak up, good bad or ugly. Or, don't speak up.

Suppose ignorance is bliss, but honesty is the best policy - assuming you have an opinion and aren't just ranting or ragging on the person as opposed to his/her bike/mods. If one person says something positive (or even neutral) and everyone else is silent, then is the OP really getting what he/she asked for? Or deserves? Just thinking. I know if I mis-stepped on a mod or two (or three or four!), I certainly would want as many opinions as I could get. Then it would up to me to filter thru them all, and take from them what makes sense to me. Hard to do that with silent feedback!

If he's going to keep that, or any crashbar, he should have that guy twist some more metal and fab out a custom one that fits what he's already got going on. I like theKpreese version better, but I give props to the guy forgiving it a go.
