Just wondering if any of you guys are running some Nash Black Gimp bars & if so, how do you like them? Can't make up my mind on whether to get the 14" or 16" bars. Only thing, is that I should be able to run the 14's without having to change any cables.
I would do a search..there's a ton of folks here with them on including myself. Lot's of good install info too. The only two issues I/we have is that if your using stock risers, the bars will be too small and slip a little. I fixed that by wraping the bars in rubber from a bike inner tube..problem solved. In the future I'll prob go a taller size and get the correct size risers. Lastly, they run a tiny bit shorter. I have 12" Gimps and they're not that much taller than my stock 10" bars. More like a 1" difference, soon I'll go to 14"
i have the 12's. you won't be able to do the 14's w/o changing cables. you might, MIGHT, be able to get it out of the throttle cables, probably not out of the brake line (if you do some creative bending) and definately not out of the clutch, the 12's are pushing it there.
haveing said that, i like them alot. i'm surprised at how high the 12's are. i was gonna go with the 14's but i'm pretty happy about the 12's
Thanks for the info. The more I think about it, I'm starting to think it was the 12's that they showed me. I do remember them saying they had them all the way up to the 18's. I'll swing back by the shop when I get off work today. Now, if I could only afford these wheels to go with my bike....lol I really need to update my pics since I've made some more changes.
I've got the 14" gimps going on my bike today. I'll post some pics once I get them on. I bought the braided longer throttle, clutch, and brake lines from "Hill Country Cycles." I also got the longer wiring kit. After seeing "Watermans" 12 inches though, I hope I didn't go to big.
I've got 14's and wish I would have gone with 16's. Yes, if you go with 14's will have to change cables &extend wiring. I love 'em. They look great (IMHO) and the feel great.
ive got the 16's they s;lip a bit but not enough to worry me and the install was fairly simple. you will want to go with longer cables if you go anything bigger than 12's i went +6 for the 16s and i have enough slack that i will be able to go to a three inch riser from the 1 1/2 stock without to much probs.
