Default Rush 2.5" baffles - huh, what did you say???

OK - I just took a one day 750 miletrip yesterday with a new tight 3/4 helmet to cut down on the hiway wind/pipe noise and preserve my hearing.

Have had my RUSH 2.5" baffles on my '05 Ultra for two years - this excursion was my longest day trip.

At the end of the day, my ears were ringing pretty bad.You know, that stuffed head kinda feeling when you have a nastycold.

The Rush 2.5" baffles are great aroundtown (niceauthentic HARLEY bark) or for a couple hundred miles or so, but for the long hauls I mayneed ear plugs too???

I amcontemplating going back to the 2.0" I had originally but these were kindamellow. Maybe 2.25" is the answer???

If you downsize the baffles, is a retune/dyno needed with a Stage 1 SEAC???

Anybody else in this predicament - great sound versus baffle diameter versus tinnitus???

Dont worry you'll lose some hearing pretty soon than it will be a non-issue.

I've been running 2.0's in mine for a few months, but after a short 200 mile day trip yesterday I was about deaf. Actually wore earplugs for the last 50 miles or so- boy what a difference. I could hear my music and when I got home my ears weren't ringing. I like the noise in town (lets the cagers know I'm there) but on the highway it sux on a long trip. Rush baffles (and any other glass-packs) will get progressively louder the more miles you put on them as the fiberglass batting inside begins to break down & fall apart, so what it sounds like today won't be what it sounds like 3000 miles from now. I liked the 2" at first, but they're just too loud now.
I had a new set of 1.5" baffles laying around so I threw them in. Haven't ridden it yet, but it sounds good at idle and still barks pretty good when you crack the throttle. It'll be interesting to see how they sound on the highway...
