Want my money back...
I'm fighting with the dealership on my brand new '07 SG that I took home last Friday. When I get over 40-45, I can't read a street sign because of the vibration/shake. It feels like my eyeballs have come loose. This is my 7th bike and my 23rd year of riding, my 5th HD, 2nd with a windshield, 1st with a fairing. The Service dept. has the bike right now. They want me to spend money on a taller windshield to see if this cures it. I say NO! I don't want it to come to this but, if they can't fix it w/o me spending more money (they've got enough of mine over the years), I want a different bike.
The service guy is telling me there is no 3-day rescission period on my contract because it's a recreational vehicle (not a house or car)and that there's nothing I can do.
Have any of you heard of this? thanks.
[:@]These jacka$$es don't even know anything about service, never mind law. It's just another example of the old HD motto of "BS the customer and hope they go away". I'd calltheattorney generals office and ask for information on this. All;

However, I demo'd the '07 SG on more than once occassion and each time, I got the same vibes.
It blurred my vision and made highway riding an impossibility.
Every time I mentioned this to someone at my area dealers, they all said the same thing: You'd need a different sized windshield.
I went with the Road King so I don't know if the new w/s would have made a difference to me. But, since my demo's, I've spoken toA LOT of riders as well as HD employees and to-a-man, they all assure me that the different w/s would have solvedmy vibe problem on the SG.
I'm not going to tell you to keep the bike. But, it'sa beautiful ride, and there's nothing HD did wrong: the shield had to be some height and some riders were going to need a shorter/taller w/s regardless of how short/tall they came stock.
I think the w/s is pretty inexpensive (compared to the $20k you pd for the bike).
They're all over the place on EBAY for less than $50 if you decide to keep the SG.
GOOD LUCK.
That was a real nice response from your dealer. Buy a new windshield to see if your (their) problem goes away.
