Default Want my money back...

All;

I'm fighting with the dealership on my brand new '07 SG that I took home last Friday. When I get over 40-45, I can't read a street sign because of the vibration/shake. It feels like my eyeballs have come loose. This is my 7th bike and my 23rd year of riding, my 5th HD, 2nd with a windshield, 1st with a fairing. The Service dept. has the bike right now. They want me to spend money on a taller windshield to see if this cures it. I say NO! I don't want it to come to this but, if they can't fix it w/o me spending more money (they've got enough of mine over the years), I want a different bike.

The service guy is telling me there is no 3-day rescission period on my contract because it's a recreational vehicle (not a house or car)and that there's nothing I can do.

Have any of you heard of this? thanks.

Oh yeah, I'm sure the "service guy" is well versed in the state law. [:@]These jacka$$es don't even know anything about service, never mind law. It's just another example of the old HD motto of "BS the customer and hope they go away". I'd calltheattorney generals office and ask for information on this.

Don't know about the 3-day contract period.

However, I demo'd the '07 SG on more than once occassion and each time, I got the same vibes.
It blurred my vision and made highway riding an impossibility.

Every time I mentioned this to someone at my area dealers, they all said the same thing: You'd need a different sized windshield.

I went with the Road King so I don't know if the new w/s would have made a difference to me. But, since my demo's, I've spoken toA LOT of riders as well as HD employees and to-a-man, they all assure me that the different w/s would have solvedmy vibe problem on the SG.

I'm not going to tell you to keep the bike. But, it'sa beautiful ride, and there's nothing HD did wrong: the shield had to be some height and some riders were going to need a shorter/taller w/s regardless of how short/tall they came stock.

I think the w/s is pretty inexpensive (compared to the $20k you pd for the bike).
They're all over the place on EBAY for less than $50 if you decide to keep the SG.

GOOD LUCK.

I don't know the law in your state, but it is a motor vehicle, not a recreational vehicle like an ATV or something.
That was a real nice response from your dealer. Buy a new windshield to see if your (their) problem goes away.

If you have definitively ruled out the windshield as a cause, and you have to return the bike more than three times for the same reason, ask your local dealer if he's familiar with your state's lemon law. Tell him "it's either fix it and fix it right or the next voice you hear will be that of my attorney."

Why don't you tell Braniac to install a taller windsheild on it and let you take it for a test spin. If it cures the problem, you have an imediate answer. If it doesn't and you're not satisfied, then press the issue. I might be mistaken, but I believe that the 3 day contract is pretty universal. Trick is to not be stalled for more than 3 business days. Good luck.

You didn't get to takethe actual bike that you bought out for a test run first?. I'm not sure what kind of horse chit dealer you got but the dealer I have dealt with will let you testride one thats in the showroom and then another test ride before taking delivery.

Stealer is BSing you the whole way, asked the fuknut where his law degree is because even if it was a recreational vehicle the three day rule still applys.

Talk to the Sales manager if you haven't already and tell him to throw in the windshield to make you happy. The cost of a windshield shouldn't be a deal breaker for them.

They keep selling short people shields for the dynas. If you use a road king shield and your hardware. The road king's shields are taller and wider but the dyna's have use detachable hardware.
