Bike not charging

Bike isn't charging - how can I test to see if it is the regulator or the alternator?

Un plug stator and ck for A/C current coming out of the alt 40VAC at 2000rpm should do it. If you got voltage there it's the regulator/rectifier thats bad.

OK tested the Stator - getting 30 VAC but I'm not sure about the RPM - no tach, but the reading does go up and down in relation to the RPMs. So then am I to think that it's the regulator?

That would be the next step. Look at the plug too. If it's burned you might want to try to clean and tighten the connector. check that the wire to the battery is not open. I have seen a few times that the wire will break inside the insulation.
