Default Diaries of a chrome addict

Hi, my name is Mats and I'm addicted to chrome. I was able to fight offthe problem for about 15 years with just looking at Harley pictures, last year a "friend" of mine was selling his Fat Boy. Like the "good friend" he is he gave me an offer I couldn't refuse, I thought to myself "I'm a grown mature man, I can handle this" - I ended up buying the bike and ofcourse I went crazy with the partscatalog...

I started right away planning for "necessary" upgrades and came up with the following:
-Exhaust, licenseplate, seat, grips, handlebar, turnsignals, brakelight, trimring, reflector w/ highperformance bulb and rear loweringkit.

I made a conjugal visit when the bike was at the shop and realized a few things:
-Loved the look of the new knucklebar but didn't like the quality of the bar I had bought. I ended up ordering Wild 1's knucklebar and having the first knucklebar replaced without even starting the engine...
-Since I was getting a new bar I might as well chrome all the front controls including the wires.
-When I was making (yet) another order for parts I might just as well addnew passenger pegs, brakepedal and shifterpegs.

The result was amazing, I am a very very proud owner of a 2003 Fat Boy!

On a side note; all you guys in the US thinking Harley dealers as "stealers" - I dare you to come to Europe and shop for parts, everything is 2-3 times more expensive...ThankGod I have friends that travelacross the Atlantic very often and are willing to be my chrome-mule...

I hope you don't think your "done" with the bike. As soon as you think you have it the way you want it, you will just find new things to change or replace. Its just the way it is.

Great looking bike!!
Stay safe,

Heck, I see a few things still to be done...

Funny, but when I got mine a few short weeks ago, I was telling my buddy (and my wife!) that I wasn't going to do "much", just a couple of necessary items like windshield, saddlebags and sissybar. Now, I've got a pretty big list of things I've already done, with 4 items from eBay on their way here, another 5 being bid on, and a another handful of 'wishlist' items I haven'tquite committed to![sm=bling.gif] All this, and only a little over 1000 miles on the bike so far. [&o]

If someone has a good reference for a competent support group please send it my way...[sm=icon_guiness.gif] the wife will be extremely grateful![sm=chairshot.gif]
