I know some of you have experienced that strange sensation of looking at a model in another family and thought about how easy it would be to pull into the local stealer and just trade them out.
I've had my bob for about a year now and i love it. I absolutely adore it. I came from a metric and riding had lost it's fun until i picked up the bob. Now i eagerly watch the weather each morning hoping for good weather so i can hear that roar and enjoy the open road.
But i've got a buddy who's been on a Street Glide for the last 3/4 of a year and he's started to slowly and quietly pull me towards the dark side. I've never been a bagger kind of guy, but it's really started to grow on me.
Oh the agony!
Oh the pain!
What to do, what to do...
I know i'm asking a loaded question in this forum, but anyone with a SG as well as their Dyna and have any opinions? Ride, comfort, handling, overall appeal...
I know the feeling. Been eyeballing the Street Glide for a while. Have a 07 Low for about a year, and love it.
Bottom line for me is the Street Glide will have more creature comforts: fairing, radio, bags. Not ready for the SG yet. Rather keep playing with mods, being able to really lean into it around turns and overall the feel and sharp looks of it. Love the Dyna's.
It's all really a personal choice. Just get what you will be happy with.
Seriously, the Street Glide is a very nice ride and tempting.
If I left my Super Glide for another woman, it would probably be an RK Standard, though. I just don't like not seeing the forks and fender in front of me.Local dealer has had a 2008RK on the floor, and I sit on it about twice a month. I don't know if I would really like a bagger better than what I already have.
I suggest going to the Touring forum, and read what they have to say. Lots of arguement about what is the best ride/bang for the buck over there.
Stay with the Bob. I got a Superglide and a Roadglide and unless starting a trip or the weather is bad, I much prefer the dyna. It's lighter, more responsive and just more fun to ride. The Roadie is big (850 lbs) massive, and a pain to maneuver around in traffic.(although it's hard to beat if you are going to tour or otherwise spend long days (450 miles) in the saddle at highway speeds)
If you ride a bagger enough you get used to it, but it sure dont have the fun factor of the Dyna.
