Mustang Vintage Solo or Wide Vintage Solo??
I'm about to pull the trigger and found a good price on either of these seats.
What stinks, of course, is that it's a mail order deal.. Can't try either out. Going on reputation and feedback from others.
Picking the Vintage or Wide Vintage (no studs, braided - sort of fatboy styling).. Going on my black 04 fatboy.
I'm just torn as to either the regular 14" or the wider version 17.5".
I'm 6'1" about 250lbs.. former weight trainer that's fallen off the wagon, though I do get a lot of yard work these days. [:'(]
Typically longer riding upwards to 150 to 300 miles per day.. Nothing shorter than 30 minutes (the ride one-way to work).
This seat is replacing a lapera "barhopper" skinny solo seat that has killed my rear end for the last time on the long treks.
I'm leaning towards the wide version but thowing it out there for some reinforcement from the peanut gallery.

Example of the regular on their site:

Example of a wide on their site but I'm NOT going with the studs.. They're pretty much the same except for width:

I was having trouble deciding myself. I found a "like new" wide studded solo and wide studded pillion on e-bay for $200. I just couldn't pass up the deal (they were, indeed, "like new"!
).Now that I've been riding the wide solo...I'm glad I got it. I'm not 100% sure the narrower seat would have been as comfortable. og, I'm 180lbs for reference.
Anyone, got any other pics maybe for a 3/4 or top view possibly?
That's the trouble.. Mustang's site doesn't really show the top profile of the seats.. that would help big time. The 3/4 side shots they have don't really give a great perspective of the width.
Would you say your standard width solo would be comfortable for 300+ miles?

Not bad.. The wider seat isn't too bad on an FL bike. On an FX bike it might look a little wide.
