Thought the fairing was shaking more then usual but, put it off with the thought that it has turned cool around here and perhaps the bike wasn't warming up as much or the rubber motor mounts were a little harder in the cold therefore more vibration. Today went for a ride with my buddy who has an Ultra. Guess what, no shake on his bike! Got home, took off the front of fairing and discovered that both upper faring brackets are broke. Anyone else have this problem? Waiting now for call back from dealer to see if they have the parts. Bottom line if it looks like it is shaking more than usual you might have some busted brackets!

 

Very common problem,not sure if HD redesigned the 07s.

 

mine on the 05 ultra was just fixed at the dealer.. 2 main brackets and 1 lower bracket..warrenty work

 

Dealer called back. Needs to see it! This better not be a "run around"! At just 4800 miles it seems like a big quality issue. This bike has just been ridden and not wrecked. I don't think broken brackets that hold on the fairing is reasonable for a $19,000 motorcycle.

 

mine broke at less than 4000 miles, after leaning on the service guy I find out that its a common problem with the 06s. Replacement brackets are make of a heavier material. Should not be a problem as it is warranty work.

 

Denied, Thanks. That is what I wanted to hear. The dealer has been good to me so far. I do like to be armed with all the correct information before I may have to go into battle. The weatherman says rain tomorrow but, I might just suit up in the old rain gear and get this settled anyway. I don't like it when the bike is broke!

 

there was a thread about this very issue recently- same exact problem!

 

Just had mine in a few weeks ago because of a ting-ting sound around the fairing. Broken brackets. Actually I didn't have a chance to ask if it was one or more than one as I picked it up after service hours. They had to order the parts so I will find out when it goes back in. This is after only 2 months and 2500 miles.

Looked real close last week when I replaced the speaker. Torqued the fasteners, all solid at 17000kms.
