Love my bike :) Pics added
Hello all,
I am a new Harley owner. I bought an 04 Ultra that was scuffed and replaced all painted parts with a take off 05 paint set. The bike now looks as good as new. I have ridden about 2000 miles in the couple of months I have owned the bike and loved every mile. I learned alot while rebuilding the bike, I replaced the entire paint set, including front fairing, tank, saddle bags and tour pack, and side covers. The inner fairing was chipped as well. No frame damage of fork damage, although I had to replace the front fork slider covers. Most parts came from Ebay and the local Harley dealer. There is a local guy here in my hometown that has a Harley shop some of you may know, he has been doing Harleys for as long as I can remember, at least 40 years. His name is Johnny Newby, and he was most helpful, he had several parts too. Anyway, I look forward to learning alot from these forums.
I will add some pictures to this post, not good quality, just learning camera. These were taken on Tuesday at Tompkinsville, KY city park. Some below asked for before and after pics, I was in such a hurry to get started on the rebuild, I never thought to take before pics till it was too late. Trust me, it wasn't pretty anyway. The bike had been rolled at least once, damaged both sides, and ripped top of passenger backrest. Most of the paint was beyond repair, tour pack was cracked, tank was caved in, etc. Original color was Pearl White, now it is Vivid Black/Lava Red Sunglo two tone.
Thanks,
Jerry
