Afriend of mine recently had a 95 inch kit and heads done, and when he picked up the bike he noticed a slight ticking sound coming from the heads. The person who did the build said ride it for a few hundred miles and see if it goes away. If not, we may have to readjust the valves.
Any thoughts...?

If he used adjustable pushrods in the build they may not be completely adjusted yet. The mechanic is hoping the lifters will pump up some and take out the slack in the adjustment otherwise he has to go in and adjust the pushrods agian.

Depends on what the build was. A couple things that come to mind are valve springs hitting lower rocker boxes, roller rockers if used can be "tappy" especially if touching top cover, pushods not adjusted correctly or even rubbing tubes.
Then again some motors make a little noise and noises are very subjective from person to person.

i thought my was too noisy after my build, but it was me just not used to the bigger engine..... your engine will sound diff than stock because of diff springs/valves and cams
