2016 H-D Touring

Our Fantasy Bike — a Special Construction 2016 Harley-Davidson Touring — Nabs $42,000 in Online Auction

The idea of combining old-school and new-school is nothing new. We’ve seen it done both ways — old bikes that have newer components or styling, and new bikes that pay homage to their predecessors. When done right, either method can produce jaw dropping results. When done wrong, well, you know…

The majority of the time we see old bikes brought into modern times, though usually with styling but also with some drivetrain upgrades. Seeing a new bike with throwback styling is much more rare, probably because it isn’t an easy look to pull off. Plus, who the heck would drop the cash on a brand new bike only to drop more cash to make it look old?

2016 H-D Touring

It sounds crazy, but in some cases it just plain works. As in the case of this wild 2016 H-D Touring, which we spotted on eBay and recently sold for $24,000. As a result, it looks more like something out of a futuristic wild west movie rather than something that just recently rolled off the Harley-Davidson assembly line.

There isn’t much on this bike that’s original, obviously. A whole lot of work hours went into crafting parts by hand, with no bolt on parts in sight, including the seat suspension, which was created especially for this motorcycle.

Despite barely being a used bike, the frame, transmission, engine, clutch, cables, lights and tires are all new. It may seem like madness, but you can’t argue with the results. The details here are absolutely stunning and it’s hard to take your eyes off of them.

All of those custom metal bits, along with the brown leather and paint make this 2016 H-D Touring a Steampunk fan’s ultimate ride.
