Fall Guide: Harley Davidson Helmet

By -

In some states it’s the law. In others it’s not. However you look at
it, though, a motorcycle helmet is good protection to have in the event
you dump your Harley. If you are going to wear a helmet, though, you
should do it in style. Harley Davidson makes helmets that protect you
and tell the world your passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Half Helmets

A half helmet might be the perfect way to protect yourself and still
manage to enjoy the fall weather. Whether you want to consider the
Hybrid Ultra-Light Classic Half Helmet ($200 Manufacturer’s suggested
retail price) or the Carbon Kevlar Half Helmet for 50 dollars more, or a
different helmet, Harley’s got you covered. In fact, they’ve got twenty
different half helmets. There are plain ones and helmets with Harley
graphics. You can get half helmets with detachable visors and some
without. It’s best to check out the Harley Davidson website
to get an idea of what’s available. They don’t sell them online,
though, you’ll need to go into your local dealer to make your purchase.

3/4 Helmets

If you want a little more protection, but don’t want to get a full
helmet, then a 3/4 helmet might be the answer for you. For 2010 there
are five from which to choose. Again, you can look them over at the
Harley website, but you have to go in to a dealer to buy one. The prices
range from about a hundred dollars for the stock 3/4 helmet to $350 for
the Men’s Carbon Kevlar® Ultra Jet 3/4 Half Helmet. That one has a face
shield that converts to a visor. You can get a 3/4 helmet with
retractable sun shield, too. So, there are quite a few options.

Full Face

If you prefer the full face, Harley has seven models from which you
can choose. For warmer climates you might want a modular helmet. Modular
helmets are assembled using several independent pieces and allow for
cooling channels where air can flow. Harley offers three of those. Full
face (one piece) helmets are also available. You can expect to pay
between $150 (Men’s Classic Full Face Helmet) and $475 (FXRG Full
Face Helmet). The second one uses Kevlar to give the maximum protection
with minimum weight. Again, you can get an idea of what the helmets
look like online, but you’ll need to go into buy one.

Harley Davidson offers a wide range of helmets to match up with
varied tastes and needs. Their helmets provide all-around protection and
comply with Department of Transportation regulations. Whether you want a
helmet just to meet your state’s laws or are looking for protection for
your own piece of mind, a Harley Davidson helmet can provide that and
do it in classic Harley style. You ride the machine, shouldn’t you wear
the helmet, too?
