Harley Cafe Racer (7)

I love two-wheeled machines in all their various shapes and sizes, but there something about the minimal look and feel of a café-racer that makes weak in the knees. That feeling is compounded when anyone takes a big cruiser and manages to mold it into a sleek speed demon. With that said, I want this 883 Sportster so bad it hurts. The lust is strong with this one, my friends.

The bike is part of Harley-Davidson’s Battle of the Kings build competition, and it comes from Belgian tuner Zadig Motorworks. It’s a murdered-out machine with classic design cues in gold that takes the modern cruiser and throws it squarely into the past. It also would fit squarely in mobster’s garage with the black. Fitting then that they named it Tony Montana.

To make sure the two-wheeled gangster rides as well as it looks, Zadig altered almost all of the running gear. The rear has been raised 45mm, and the front forks have been swapped to an RSD adjustable setup. The custom exhaust and a remapped EFi give the bike a slight power boost (no word on how many extra ponies) and thanks to the lack of extra body work, weight has been cut by nearly 100 pounds.

Fast, lighter, and sexier. That is the perfect combo in my book. If you love this bike as much as I do, you better give Zadig a call. They have said they plan to build a small run of 100 of these bikes with the price coming in at a very reasonable $25,000. The bike will look nearly identical to this prototype, with the only notable exception being the exhaust. Rather than the custom unit here, all the production bikes will wear Screaming Eagle pipes.

Now to try and convince my wife that I need another bike.
