When it comes to Harley-Davidson motorcycles, perhaps no model is more diverse than the Softail lineup. Whether you want a classy chromed out cruiser or a modern-day matte black urban ride, Harley has a Softail for you. Heck, we’ve even seen off-road ready examples ready to tackle the desert. But if you want to see the full array of Softail possibilities, look no further than the H-D Forums.
And if you’re hankering for some sweet examples of the breed, look no further than this thread started by DK Custom. It’s chock full of awesome rides and comes with a pair of rules: only one pic, and it has to be a Softail. So naturally, the OP kicked things off with his own personal favorite.
Bone Doc‘s ride is also of the retro variety, and equally nice to look at.

FLS103‘s Softail is a perfect example of the diversity in the lineup, however.
“At the moment this is my favorite pic because it was the last time I rode it before tearing down for some winter mods. Taken Dec 24th, it’s currently sitting on a dyno 2 hours down the road and will be tuned tomorrow.”
Then again, we love a good Night Train. And speedcheck‘s got a really, really good one.

Madbobber‘s Fat Boy certainly dares to be different. And it’s hard to argue with the result of his vision, nor the skills of his photography.
Then there’s Jim Davis, who obviously has a bit of skill behind the lens himself. Not to mention a pretty incredible bike to photograph.

Yes, when it comes to Harley-Davidson Softail examples, it’s virtually impossible to choose just one favorite. The diverse and ever-popular model is certainly a favorite around these parts, and we’ve got just about any kind of Softail you could ever hope to lay eyes on. So when you’ve got a spare few minutes (like now!) be sure and check out the dozens of incredible rides posted up in this thread. But let us preemptively warn you – don’t be surprised if it inspires you to make some modifications to your own bike. Or start shopping for a new one!
