Use'ta be it was pretty common knowledge and after validation on dyno's, true duals robbed low end torque and 2 into 1 was the hot ticket for best performance. The drawback was it changed the "Harley" sound to something "undesirable"
Has anything changed? Has anyone had the new wet Rushmore motors actually tuned rather than the latest "autotune"?
I'm probably gonna do a catless header and muffler along with a FM PV-2 this winter but really stumped on which header to use.
I got the R/H Slimline headers that have a hidden bridge that links the two sides that look great, removes that cat, has great sound, yet still acts like a 2 into 1. However, having said this, I am still trying to get it dialed-in because my HD dealer does not have a Dyno and the tune they gave me is not quite perfect.
The system looks and sounds awesome though, and another member of this forum (thanks Mac!) has provided me with a map for my SEPRT that should do the trick. Now, all I need is to find time to get it done.
Left my stock header, added boyesen intake, nightrider adj xied's and supertrapp stout slipons and bike was a bear and mileage was 40+, traded a week ago for a new 14 CVO limited and am doing the break in process, that 110 has bodacious low end torque, trying to get to 1,000 the first week but weather has turned cold 40/60* and only at 575 so far.
Ride safe and enjoy
We have dyno tuned many, many combinations on the Twin Cooled bikes, we also bought a 14 FLHTK specifically for testing. We developed calibrations, tested most exhaust combinations, and developed a few products. As far as performance and exhaust characteristics nothing has really changed as Bernoulli's Principal and the laws of physics remain the same, however it is still interesting to see the effects of each exhaust system and how they are affected by tuning, cams, etc. Stay tuned to the thread https://www.hdforums.com/forum/new-r...fuel-moto.html we are testing a bunch of combinations, it will be relative to the twin cooled bikes as well
If you lose a few but gain a few more with a tuner and a/c change and slip on's it's all good.like the post above says you'll never notice the few you lose.
