sorry for the lousy pic's, bike is in winter storage. as of version 1.18.2 my database is 2012 q2. for 149.95 from navi extras i can purchase current map of 2013 q2. I am sure the confusion is the last part 20130201 probably is a identifier when the nav version was made not the date of maps, possibly issued 02/01/2013 which would be current for my 09/13 bike. If anyone has conflicting proof please share. Mike
I would agree with the last line being some sort of identifier HD uses and not the maps version. The picture above, the last numbers is different than yours.
THINK you might be wrong there Buddy, 2014 Limited built in Nov. 2013, came from the dealer with 2q 2012 maps, one of the updates I (and others) have done updated the maps to 2q 2013, that's what I have now and I never purchased anything...
There it is iuoe rob, screen shots of data bases, no nav update from the harley s/w updates. Mike
found this in 2015 boom manual
For CVO models, three navigation map database updates
can be downloaded for free over a five year period. Inter-
continental replacements require additional charges for
all models

My mistake I guess, thought the version was the bottom line...

Maybe a good reason to load the CVO version of the software update so it will accept map updates. I guess HD could give CVO owners some sort of code for downloads from the map vendor.
Seems like another disconnect on the GPS service. You can buy several Garmin models with lifetime maps. Sad to see either the MoCo or the map vendor holding on to a pay to update model.

I don't think it is the software loaded on BOOM that will control the downloads or make them free. I think it has to do with the USB key you have to make and connect that to the naviextras program.
Some one else said that they downloaded an update from HD that had newer maps but I think they may have been mistaken. I have the last 3 versions and a buddy sent me a PM and he has all six versions saved and all of them are way under the size of what the nav database size alone is.
I have yet to come across an vehicle OEM that includes lifetime updates with their maps. I have a friend who purchased a $1mm + motor home a couple years ago and he was bitchin that he had to pay $199 for updated maps.

Not lookin' to beat this thing anymore, I know there's a thread somewhere talking about a new map version, I looked for awhile last night but couldn't find it...I think a lot of folks thought there was a map update included with one of the software updates, probably made the same mistake I did. I (we) didn't think it would be too much to ask of Harley, we bought a '14 bike and got 2012 maps, a little cheesy on their part. As I posted earlier, I got a '13 map version on my '14 truck...not that big deal to me anyway, somewhere down the line I'll buy one of the updates, maybe wait 3-4 years.

I checked mine last night and it's the same as yours (2012) on 2014 SGS!
For the trip that I'm on now I mounted my Zumo on the clutch. I really liked the look of the center fairing mount above the gauges but the bracket that I fabricated myself didn't work out and T&T has not responded for theirs, http://www.tandtfabrications.com/sto..._standard.html
There are some other Zumo apps that I like for trips and for now I plan on using them to augment the Boom. If the Boom maps become seriously outdated I'll just ignore the Boom navigation and use the Zumo.
I liked the way the Zumo looked but my mount was not stable. I'll revisit the idea after this trip if I cannot buy one from a place like the one linked above.
