Cancelling a route

Cancelling a route
I have searched and read the book and cannot find out how to cancel a route in the navigation system. Friday I was in the middle of a trip I had loaded into he navigation system and then decided I wanted to go elsewhere and not use the system. I was unable to cancel the route? Must be a button I am missing somewhere?

You need to have the route in go mode before you can cancel it. If you turn off before ending the route you have to reselect and tell to go, then the Stop will be available in the 3 line icon.
