Harley Davidson is the best motorcycle brand with the most complete dealer network on the planet. The Rushmore improvements just make an already great motorcycle line even better. It is taking me some time, but I am liking my 14 FLHTK more and more each day.
Ditto. Except the looks never bothered me. Wet head, mail slot, bags...all fine to my eye. Best bike I've owned or ridden, and I too have owned a few.
The looks of the 2014's was one of the reasons I finally jumped at a Limited. I was looking at Touring CVO's for a couple of years. I always thought the standard Touring bikes looked a bit old fashioned. The subtle changes to the lines of the fairing and bags, the new wheels, the blackwall tires as well as the cleaned up lighting all give the bike a much needed modern look while still retaining the classic Harley vibe.
The Wet Head was also a determining factor in me finally wanting a 103 engine in a faired bike. The heat of the recent Touring bikes was a turnoff for me and kept me holding on to my 2002 Fat Boy with it's relatively cool 88.
All and all, the 2014/15 Limited is the ultimate Touring bike IMHO (except maybe a 2015 CVO Street Glide ).
I formed an opinion based on the negative coments on a few different forums on the web. Then I rode one. Then I bought one. I have to say out of the five Harley's and half a dozen japanese bikes I've owned, this is hands down the best bike I've ever had. When the Rushmore first came out I didn't like anything about them. I didn't like the wet head, the mail slot, the shape of the bags. Now I love it all. I guess the old saying " don't knock it till you've tried it" is true after all.
Good for you F King! I kind of liked them right off the hop when I saw them in the parking lot at the HD Museum during the 110th. Didn't get to ride one but came home from the celebration and traded in my 13 - CVO FLHRS on a 14 FLHTK. Absolutely NO regrets. Its been a superb bike! Ride Safe.
I have a 2006 RKC with 70K. This bike is my pride and joy. Now, my '15 ultra limited leaves me speechless! I test rode one and knew when I got off I wanted one. One month old and 2K. If you have any doubts ride one.
Ive had mine for a year now it one of the first to hit the dealers floor.... all my buddies ride softtails I came out of a CVO softie slowly over the last year each of my friends have ridden my sled and all were amazed at how nimble this bike handles and well it tracks at all speeds.
