I Should Listen Sometimes

during a dyno tune, the dyno guy uses a separate wideband O2 plugged into his equipment, and tunes with that, and prolly just references the OEM 02's to double check.
I think the PV "sees" the O2 sensors in areas/bands where the stock ECM does not, and that is how it auto tunes. a common sense guess would be, it knows which way the AFR is gross out of tune (beyond the limit of the narrow band 02, and rich or lean) and it just pushes the AFR in the correct direction, till the narrow band's get a reading.
IRT to the quick tunes, they are just tabs on the PV screen, and you can learn to use them on Dynojet's YouTube Channel:
here are all their videos:

fo'shizzle: you are on the right track, the PV and the ECM want to make the map correct, and you want it to be a tad bit rich to keep the bike cool at idle,
and you can do that with the quick tune functions (also helps with decel pop if you richen up the decel range.)

Did you note what AFR in the closed loop changed to in your lambda table when you updated the stock MAP to the stock improved MAP and then again when you updated to the dyno tune?
Thanks for your help.
I checked out the video. Thanks. I'm still confused though. If I have synced up my VE tables to my AFR table, would I need to use that tab to add fuel? Couldn't I just edit the AFR table? How does that tab thing work with the AFR table? What happens if I input a percentage that increases the AFR in the closed loop beyond what the O2 sensors read. I don't understand how it works from the video.
Thanks for your help.
you can do the quick tune, with the PV on the handlebars.
so if you live at the beach, you can ride to the mountains, do an autotune to get the AFR perfect for the cooler weather, lower humidity and thinner air,
and then you could use quick tune to richen it back up to make it run cooler at idle
in other words, the AFR table is for (fine) tuning,
and the quick tune tabs are for fixing quick problems (coarse tuning?), or just globally enriching one range/RPM range.
Just adding my 2 cents in as well but remember all bikes are lean and all bikes will run better if they have a little tweaking done. These rushmore cams have pretty good potential if properly tuned so you know what they say, Friends don't let friends ride a stock untuned HD !! Nah, they didn't really say that but it sounded good...
I see a lot of different settings in winpv that I didn't have with the 08 as well. My old brain just don't work as well as it used too.......LOL.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
What problem did the PV CAUSE that they wouldn't warrant?
I would highly recommend reading and understanding the Magnuson-Moss act of 1975
