The wife and I snuck away from work yesterday to do one of our favorite 150 mile afternoon rides. When we pulled in the restaurant lot it was a surprise that the had just spread some new gravel. Not just a little gravel, 2-3 inches thick of 3/4" gravel. Parked the bike and went in and had a nice lunch. When we went to leave she had to push us back since I was unable to get a footing in this stuff on level ground. As we left I had to make a slight left turn and instead of turning the front tire dug in, slid, and down we went. She skinned her knee a little but was a trooper. A French tourist helped us stand the bike up, it was sitting on the guards, we thanked him and went on our way. This isnt the first time I have dropped a bike, Dropped the Roadking twice in 11 years so my pride wasnt hurt to much, but it still hurts a little. Im sure it will happen again.
I dropped my 2014 Ultra Limited a few months back. I was just sitting on it and stood up without holding the handle bars and down she went, it happens. I just completed a 2000 mile ride from Alabama to Key West Fl. great ride and did not drop it.
a few years ago on a rental street glide in Vegas I found a speed bump taller then the ground clearance of the bike ! just idling over bump I stopped unexpectedly and it went down. I just stepped off it and bike rolled onto guards no damage but burned the hell out of my leg standing it back up. Last time i ever wore shorts on a bike `
