Default woods cams

lookin' for a little more pep in my '14 Ultra. Stage One already done.
Svc manager at the HD shop recommended woods cams.
doing a Google search for woods cams only brought up stuff from 4 years ago, and not much good to say about 'em.
Have things changed since then?
Anybody runnin' Woods Cams now?
Thoughts? Advice?
Thanks
T

Fuel Moto sells Woods cams and they are one of the more popular cams out there. Go to the FM site and you will get all the info you need on them. There are also a ton of members of this site that have them in their bikes.

yes to the Fuel Moto comment above, spoke with Jamie and just waiting till they develop a map for the '15 CVO with TW-222 cams.. Woods cams are certainly considered top notch, and with everything that Fuel Moto does and recognized for, I doubt they would use them if not top shelf.

Woods cams are very expensive though compared to Andrews. And since Andrews grinds all the woods cams to spec are the Woods worth $150 more ? Not imo there not. If your looking for a bolt in look at what Andrews offers, the 57 works great for low and Mid range as well as the 48's for low end but tend to fall off around 4000 I think. Again absolutely nothing wrong with the Woods cams except the price but if that doesn't matter at all then it's just a matter of choice.

You would be hard pressed to feel the difference between the Wood 222 and the Andrews 48h in a Stage 1 bike. I like the Woods also but the price is the deciding factor for me when they are this equal. If you add compression then it is another conversation as the 222 would work better.

FYI, Wood Performance is now offering a new TW-999 cam for late model twin cam engines. Developed as a joint effort between Fuel Moto and Bobby Wood, this cam is designed for big Hp/Tq in higher compression applications, power comes on extremely early and stays on late, valvetrain is nice an quiet. Cams will be available mid December. Here is the cam card:

Im looking at doing the 107 kit how will this new cam work with it. I dont want to get to high on compression. I think we are looking to be around the 10.5 when done.
