I was going to powder coat my tour pack latch, I removed the lock and a few plastic pieces but cant figure out how to get it completely broke down. Has anyone taken one apart and could give me a few hints. Usually taking something apart is not the problem, it's getting it back together. LOL Thanks
Thanks Padre, It has plastic in it and cant get coated cause that will melt. I am either going to have to have it painted or just break down and buy the MOCO part that is already black. Surdyke has the best price and that's probably the way I will go.

What did you end up doing, I am in that situation now.
I have the same problem. I just sucked it up and got the kit from moco. No way to get it stripped. I painted it and it looked good but as soon as i put the key in wrong it scratches it. Go to kutter and i think it was 166 shipped. I also had a manual and it was no help. Found microfiche on line and it was no help either. I will sell the hinges and just chalk it up to harley wanting my money.
