Well fellow rushmore members, I had traded my 2011 custom sg in for a 2014 ultra classic. Got a great trade in rate and great price for the ultra.
I rode the new bike home and loved it. Looks good, handles good, and all around just a great bike. Really impressed with the factory power. So I got home which is only 30 miles from dealer. I installed the removable tour pak kit, lights, windshield, trim, trim, trim, exhaust, took off tour lights and put on sg turns in front. replaced seat for my cvo 2 piece. replaced floor boards for streamliner ones. I rode the bike for 1147 miles and really liked it.
Now I'm sitting in garage working on friends bike and he comments how nice of bike I have bought, but asked why I was trying to make it look like a sg?
So that night I sat there and looked at it for quite some time and realized he was right. The next morning I called my salesmen and asked him what they would give me for trade in? And what a new sgs would cost me?
Wow, he calls back and says put the bike back to stock and bring it in. I talked a few details out like leaving the detach kit on, the hand grips, and the custom licence plate frame I had installed. I ask can u come pick it up? And deliver the new bike? He says no problem and he would send a guy down and would also get free storage for the winter.
So now I am the proud owner of a 2015 sgs, black denim. Its staying at the dealer for the winter. I have a chrome lower kit going on it with the red calipers. Then putting handlebars, grips, braided lines, lighted switches on it. Then in jan or feb going to fuelmoto for there 107 kit. As soon as I get back up there I will get pics for you guys. I have to work in phili for two weeks then will be home, they should have front end done by then. And then start on handle bars.
All in all I can say I am happy with the deal. The main reason I traded in was I took my tour pak off and in 1100 miles never put it back on. I wanted to switch the front fender, rear fender, inner fairing and the rear shocks on the classic The cost out wayed the the cost to trade back in.
I cant wait til spring to get the new bike out and ride it. Fuelmoto says it should put out atleast 120hp, I will post pics over the winter time of the upgrades.
I do ride solo 80-90% of the time. My gf actually said the tour pack was to comfortable and felt she might fall asleep and did not like that. I would have kept the ultra but for once the dealer actually made it to good not to trade in.

that TP is just too handy. I have mine off now, and it almost cripples the bike, like packing a gym bag in one side, cold weax gear in other bag, and then a laptop bag in the TP.
i went to work one day without the TP, and had a surprise meeting off site, had to bungee the laptop on the sissy bar.
whatever works for you brother, but WE DO NEED PICS
It's all about getting what you want, but I bet your dealer is very happy to see you each time you walk in the door. How long will it take before that SG starts to look like an Ultra ?
