Default 5K Maintenance Necessities

Have a 2014 Ultra Limited that is about 100 miles overdue for 5K maintenance.
Don't have the money to get it done right now.

What is bare minimum I should do to the bike - safety and mechanically wise - until I can get it in to a dealer or an Indy mech so that I can keep riding the bike?

Thanks...Bill

seriously?

bought a 2014 bike and cant afford the upkeep?

but really oil change(s) and just go over the bike making sure things are in spec. Belt tension, tire pressures, all lights work, bolts and nuts tight, etc.

Bill, the 5k is pretty easy. Theres really no need to even take it to the dealer. Keep a log and your reciepts for oil, filters etc... They cant void your warranty because you performed your own service. Buy a service manual and do everything your comfortable with yourself and save hundreds.
Heres a link to the service checklists for various models.

This is good stuff but is for a 2011 model year. I am sure most of it is the same but it would be nice to have these record sheets for a 14-15 model.

Really don't think that being able or not to afford the recommended services but whether or not the cost is justified. We all know that the service labor rates are ridiculous, but they are in business to make money. There is nothing that says a competent owner cant do his/her own service. A good service manual and the above supplied maintenance items cant be accomplished. The ones that need to be done by a tech would be much cheaper.

Remember some of these HD dealers charge close to $500 for their services. I wouldn't want to pay that either. Fluid change, belt adjustment, tire pressure should take care of most issues to get you to the more important 10k service.
