Default Ultra Low Grip Diameter

Hello, first off if this has already been asked sorry. I'm on my cell traveling.

Stopped by a dealer and sat on a Ultra Low. It definitely gets you lower and flat footed. I did notice the grips are a smaller diameter than the standard Ultra. I compared them multiple times and the Low was definitely smaller. It looked like the bars were the same size. I asked the parts guy and of course he said they were all the same. Am I crazy? I would like to put them on my SGS.

Thanks

They are thinner/smaller, and they are not heated like the regular Ultra's are. I assume that's one of the characteristics that makes them thinner. Based on the HD catalog the bars are the same between the Standard and the Low. So guessing you can get heated grips on the Low but they'll be larger diameter, or you can get the smaller grips on the Standard Ultra by getting rid of the heated grips.

Yes, they are a smaller diameter, however, they are not heated like the regular limited.

Thanks for the info! Does anyone have a part # for them? I compared them to a street glide and they seemed thinner than those stock grips as well.

Yes they are smaller then the stock street glide grips. I have never seen/felt grips of that diameter.

Maybe call another dealer and see if they can give you the part number, because apparently the first dealer you talked with had no ideal.

The ultra low model grips are smailer in diameter, andf the bars provide an additional 2" pull back. The grips are not heated. It's all part of the "Ultra Low package." The seat sits 1" lower and the frame another 1". The derby and primary covers have a more slim profile and the windshield height is reduced. The parts link shows heated grips are available, but I believe you would need a competent parts guys look up the OEM parts number for the reduced diamter grips.
