So I know riding on my 2010 SG my goatee would end up blown straight out in front of my chin because of the aerodynamics of the fairing and/or whatnot... I read somewhere that part of the MoCo's redesign of the front fairing was to reduce beard lift (or some term like that). I was wondering if any of you bearded fellers (or ladies if applicable) can confirm if there is less ruffling of the facials on the Rushmore bikes? I have heard mixed results about the head buffeting...
Still have a couple miles of icy snow between my garage and clear roads... almost a month in the garage and still less than 10 miles on two SGSs... SIGH!
I'm about 5'8", and I see about 2" above the shield on my Ultra Classic. I get a little beard lift, but not nearly as bad as on any other bike I've ridden. It's not horizontal at all.
I get the dreaded beard lift on my RK, so in cold weather my beard is covered so it's not an issue. Warm weather riding; it's either braided or in pigtails. Or I ride without the shield...
The air comes up from the forks, hits you in the chest, bounces off and blows your beard out. try putting your palm out along side your tank and feel that blast coming up. Put on the Fangs and end your beard lift.

That doesn't block all the air. And on the 2014s and up, you can't add the baffle to the triple tree like on older bikes. So there is still quite a bit of air coming from around and under the front of the tank.
14 SGS, and my beard lifts to my eyes. My first batwing, so can't advise the difference compared to older models.
Once picked up a case of beer, and rode home with it on the tank. Beard lift went away.
Seems if I'm riding with ***** of feet on rear of floorboards, with my back straight up (aka good posture), the lift is reduced. Also noticed now that I'm riding bundled up for cold weather, doesn't lift up as much.
