I'm still waiting for the answer too. I haven't touched my bike in three months before today.

I am still on 1.18.0 and my avc works perfect will not upgrade to any other version. Don't want to mess with my already working system.

Still want to know if you can go to any version from what you have?

I have an old Zumo 665 that I used and loaded the maps locally to my hard drive so I don't have any issues. I'm sure if you are good with Google, you can find a work around of purchasing the maps but I don't condone it.

Doesn't the InfoGPS have it's own maps? I thought you just import waypoints which overlay the Harley map. No?

On maps - tons of free maps out there that work great. Just do a Google search for free GPS maps. There's at least 2 reliable sites out there.

Ok guys I need help;
I am an old guy and only so computer smart and I am doing something wrong so I need your help.
I downloaded the new software update and printed the instructions out from HD but I am not sure about a couple of things. I guess i got lost because when I plug the flashdrive into the usb on the bike it shows no playable media found.
After I download the SW I guess I am getting lost trying to get it to the flashdrive so could one of you guys put it to me in pretty simple words.
I thought I saved it to my desktop like the instructions said but may not have done that right.
Please walk me through the process from beginning to end.
The part that I am having the trouble with is after the download is complete copying the file within the zipped file to the root directory of a usb flasfdrive. I am not sure how to do this and I think this is where I am loosing the file.
Thanks
Jim

The instructions are on page 165...

Use the 2015 manual, it has much greater detail and the units are identical.

Weird, the AVC on my Limited has worked just fine on all of the software revisions I have had, starting with 1.14.5.

When you finish downloading the file it will be in a folder that is Zipped, it will look like a normal folder with a zipper on it.

Right click this folder and from your menu ( depends on what version of windows you have ) you should see a item like Unzip or Extract.

Select the Unzip or Extract command. You will normally have to say where to put the file that will be unzipped. Select or designate the desk top.

When this process is done, ( about 1 to 2 minutes at most) you will have two files, one will be the txt file that is just saying it is the boom 18.3. You can forget about that text file. The file you want is the other one ISO file.

Now put your USB drive in the computer.

Go to the Explorer where you see the Downloads, Desktop, C drive and the USB drive. Depending on your version of windows you should be able to get to this window by left clicking the windows button on the bottom left corner of the screen on you desktop. Then on the right side of that menu you will see computer, select that, it will take you to the explorer with the splint screen, ie on left of the split screen Computer, your other drives, and you should see the USB drive there.

So on the side of this screen (select), left click on disk top item, it will show all of the files on the desktop, then find and then RIGHT DRAG the ISO file to the USB drive, when you are over it ( the USB drive) it will say copy here, then let the right button up and it will copy the file to the Root Directory, ie if you have an empty USB it will do this automatically. (USB drive 8 Gig or larger)

Once that is done you can remove the usb and go to the bike, and follow the Accessory on, plug the USB drive in Radio on, and it will load.

Follow your HD instruction sheet.

Good luck, PM me if you have any issues.
