Ok guys I need help;
I am an old guy and only so computer smart and I am doing something wrong so I need your help.
I downloaded the new software update and printed the instructions out from HD but I am not sure about a couple of things. I guess i got lost because when I plug the flashdrive into the usb on the bike it shows no playable media found.
After I download the SW I guess I am getting lost trying to get it to the flashdrive so could one of you guys put it to me in pretty simple words.
I thought I saved it to my desktop like the instructions said but may not have done that right.
Please walk me through the process from beginning to end.
The part that I am having the trouble with is after the download is complete copying the file within the zipped file to the root directory of a usb flasfdrive. I am not sure how to do this and I think this is where I am loosing the file.
Thanks
Jim
Here is what I did last night and it worked.
Once you have downloaded it to desktop, You should have 2 file types. One is a ISO Archive and the other is a Text Doc.
Go ahead and copy both but do not extract them. Paste them in your USB drive and that's it.
Turn your bike ignition to Acc. Wait till the radio is on and then plug your USB in.
It should start automatically.

Thanks Bud I figured that out a little bit ago I was reading the HD instructions and it said to copy the top one and I tried that but it didn't work so I tried it by copying both and it worked I just got done on the bike and it uploaded just fine so Thanks for the help.
Weird, the AVC on my Limited has worked just fine on all of the software revisions I have had, starting with 1.14.5.
Although I split usage the between external speakers and a headset when using the speakers I've had no trouble with the AVC , seems to work fine and I can hear the difference. Can't remember if the AVC worked better on my '06, didn't use it all that much on that bike either.
Well, if they did, I can report that AVC is still broken.
Sorry to hear that. My AVC is working but I wish it would start quieting the radio a little sooner. For me, I have to be almost completely stopped before it lowers the volume. The other thing for me is when I stop the bike the AVC is usually engaged so I forget to lower the volume and when I turn the bike back on the radio is significantly louder than when I shut it off.
I'm figuring we are gonna hafta get to the .150 update before that system works like it should. The Info center crap is just one of the reasons I went back to a Road King.
So why must you even comment if in fact you got rid of the bike, and why use the word WE when you don't have one anymore...
Has the 1.18.3. update corrected the un-regular return to the same radio station or song on a flash drive that it was playing or set at when the bike was shut down & then restarted later? I have gone through all 5 of the past updates & it's always a guess as to where it will be set at, WB; am/fm on radio; or last song playing on the USB flash drive.

I'm wondering with you on this one, I haven't seen anyone mention this. If this .3 update fixes all it says it does the restart thing would be the only other thing I'd ask for.

Yes, me to. That's the main complaint I've had. That & the zoom on the GPS map but it sounds like that's working as it should now.
Hopefully someone will comment on our main question of going back to the song last playing when restarting after gas stops & etc...
