I know their has been a lot of threads on here about the boom stereo system, and I recently was at the dealer and listened to a bike with the Boom 2 speaker set up on it. But I don't feel like spending 2 grand for an amp and speakers especially if you do saddle bag speakers too.
Anyway My Question is has anyone here installed the new Rockford Fosgate Punch PBR300x2 Amp , They seem very small and powerful , good for a motorcycle, Any Reviews???
Question is with a street glide and just 2 speakers up front did you need a flash? And if not what did you set the gains to ? Right now my system is stock but I do have boom 6.5 " speakers waiting to go in and was thinking about an amp. And was thinking this amp the pbr300x2 would be a good choice. just wasn't sure if I would need a flash.

I've never heard the Punch amp, but from what I've read it is widely used and damn near everyone seems happy with it. The reality is, any halfway decent amp will be a VERY noticeable improvement over stock. There are vendors that offer a plug and play harness for the amps as well.
On a side note, what did you think of the Boom 2 setup you heard? I heard it at lower volumes on a bike and on a display, but haven't had a chance to really pump up the volume on one. My CVO has been in the shop since Thursday having the system installed.....I'm getting anxious to hear how it is.

I know a lot of guys used them pre-Rushmore. The 300x2 paired with some Polk MM651s was a common go to for most guys as a cost effective, quality system. Im not sure about fit now (havnt looked into it much), but the quality if definitely there.
You will get better sound quality form a installing an amp with a dealer flash than with using the Magic box, I know this for I had done both on my SGS. Working with the tech in the shop we both agreed after returning the radio to stock DSP with Magic Box vs removing Magic and flashing to No Amp 4 Speaker flash it sounded so much better. The Magic Box is a great plug and play device and avoids the need for flash but.......
I think it sounds great with the Magic Box. I can't speak for the dealer flash. I may have them do it sometime this spring and then can give them a head to head listen.
