Important part is torque sequence. Follow your manual but only go to 99 inch lbs

Yes I believe the torque sequence is critical to getting the proper seal and not deforming the gasket which would create a leak.


I'd post the sequence but am 1500 miles from my service manual.

Fuel Moto supplies flat gaskets to match their flat flange, that's what I'm using. The problem I'm having is the front pipe is touching the cam cover and I see no way to correct this.

If I remember right, I used a large socket & small hammer to gently tap the square-shouldered FM gasket in place. I had to wiggle the back end of the pipe around some & pull a little on the front pipe forward & sideways. Mine is VERY close.

Went through this on my 13 limited, I recall FM said to use the flat gaskets and as others have stated get another set of hands to help align the pipes. Again, If I recall
correctly FM stated that their header does not seat into the ports as deep as the stock
header. Worth a call to FM.
