Head pipe install HELP

I called fuelmoto on this very issue. I was told that when using HD tapered gaskets that there will not be much thread exposed after the nuts are torqued. (99 inch lbs is what fm recommends). Mine did not "click" into position either but they do not leak. My bike had 600 miles on it, I reused the oem gaskets, just left them in the head.
Important part is torque sequence. Follow your manual but only go to 99 inch lbs

If I remember right, I used a large socket & small hammer to gently tap the square-shouldered FM gasket in place. I had to wiggle the back end of the pipe around some & pull a little on the front pipe forward & sideways. Mine is VERY close.

Went through this on my 13 limited, I recall FM said to use the flat gaskets and as others have stated get another set of hands to help align the pipes. Again, If I recall
correctly FM stated that their header does not seat into the ports as deep as the stock
header. Worth a call to FM.
