Default Heated Gear Connection?

What is the proper/best way to provide a connection port for heated gear like the Gerbings?--- On my last bike I went directly from the battery terminals with the in line fused device provided by Gerbings and zip tied the female connector to the frame under the seat. However with my 14 Limited it appears there are other alternatives using HD supplied harness connections --- thus inquiring as to those that have "been there done that" what is the recommended plan?

I went through this myself last year. It's fine to use the tender connector. I had to by an adapter from HD dealer. If you want you can hook up directly to battery provide you fuse it. Tender connector is fused for 20 amps. Your choice.

I have read you can use the stock pigtail, but when I got my gear it came with the hook up to the battery so I took the ten minutes to install it just incase I ever wanted to use the other plug for extra heated gear for my wife.

I just hooked it up directly to the battery and brought it up through the slot of the seat between me and my the wife. That way when we don't us it we just tuck it down in the slot so it does not show.

I used the Gerbing's harness direct to the battery and bring it up in the slot in the seat.

I have mine hooked to the accessory plug power and then bring up a connector through the backrest and one up front between the seat and tank. I have the permanent controller so that is why I went to accessory power.

Its just a simple coax pigtail to the battery, what's the big deal? 10 min job if that. Keep some extra fuses in the tour pak along with a couple of fob batteries, can save you lots of grief on the road, just saying.

Hook to the battery. I personally don't like cutting into a wiring harness unless I have to.

I do both. Direct line to battery for me and wife uses adaptor on the tender line for her jacket connection.
