Default Saddlebag Rails & Filler Strips

Added the saddlebag rails and body-coloured filler strips today, I learnt that the instructions were useless and that despite looking identical, each side seems to fit differently with different clearances when threading the filler strips down.

Worth the effort though, pleased with the result..

I like it...I like it a lot. It'd have to be gloss black on my bike, of course

I did the same thing to mine a couple of weeks ago. I did mine the same time I put the guards on so it wasn't too bad.
I feel it makes the bike look "complete" now.

Take the rails apart it'll be alot easier. When you look at them you'll see what I mean. Some guys where taking the shock off when they first came out, said the rail wouldn't go through.

If you are putting in filler strips, you have no choice but to dismantle the bars.

Being a UK spec bike, I also had to remove the registration plate to I could thread the bars through, also the indicator on the left hand side of the bike sticks out further, so if you bolt the bottom bracket of the rail down, you can no longer thread the filler strip round - which doesn't happen on the right hand side - bizarre!

The biggest issue I had was finding a tool that allowed me get onto the torx bolt that secures the base of the filler strip, its easy to get a wrench on the nut the other side, but the clearance is really tight behind the strip. Luckily a friend who lives a couple of minutes away from me had just the tool that could fit in the 1" gap.

Definitely makes the bike look more finished at the back end now. Next step front fender rail to balance the look.

Looks great - my bike is the same color as your. You might want to consider the saddlebag lights - makes a world of difference.

I'm considering my options on the lighting, there are a few things I want to do like changing over to LED and smoked lenses.

I love the look of the saddlebag lights, what is the wiring like? Does it interfere with getting the bag liners in and out, and is it much of a nuisance when you remove the saddlebags for cleaning?
