Disn't know that. I didn't install my strobe unit yet they told me to wait till the diodes come. I did Install my plasma rods tho just as brake lights I donhave the converters to make them run and turn if I did use them I would use them as run and brake only
My unit showed up yesterday and I plugged them up. They seem to work as intended. I got the call about the diodes as well and just received a notice that they shipped yesterday. I'm curious because I did a Top Shop rear fender with the old style CVO brake lights, if I will have an issue. Emily said to still install the diodes, so I will. I will be watching this closely though. This is unusual from the prior experience I've had with CD. I have had zero issues with their products. I hope they continue to bat .1000.
Diodes came in the mail today so I installed them as instructed. They are not very bulky but the unit would look much better with them installed internally for sure. I left it double sided taped to the ECM so I hope the diodes don't cause any clearance issues with the seat. I tried to find a better place to mount it but just couldn't come up with anything that would still allow access to the **** and switches. I guess I could try and route the wires over and mount it behind the left side cover but didn't want to mess with all that today. Has anyone found a better mounting location?
Got my diode kit yesterday and the solution is a bit of a hack-job if you ask me. I waited for the CD Magic Strobe module to come out because I wanted a plug-and-play unit. I really don't want spliced-in parts in my electrical system.
I'm returning it today. What do y'all think about the kit?

I think it's unacceptable. I talked to their returns department earlier this week. Mine will be in the mail back to them tomorrow. Funny thing is, at first, they didn't want to refund my shipping costs. That pissed me off. I'll be getting that refunded as well.

I didn't even wait for the diode kit. When they mentioned positapping a couple wires I said not going to happen. You can have this one back and I'll wait until you get the manufacturing correct. For $90 I don't want a hack-job unit.

These right here. Everybody is buying these kits in the name of safety and being visible when slowing or stopping. Using a posi-tap on your brake or directional lights is the most insane thing I've ever heard! Water gets in there and starts corroding the wires, you get a weak signal or voltage drop, and now you have NO brake or direction lights.
I want the plasma rods and LED conversion kid for my bike, but there's absolutely no way I'd ever splice into what was supposed to be a plug-n-play system on such an important part of being visible to the person behind me on their phone. I understand not wanting to eat the cost of an entire production run, but that could be solved by them soldering and heat tube wrapping everything before it leaves their location. For the ones that have shipped already, recall them and fix them the same way. Offer them to customers at a discount and let them know they were recalled and repaired.
Anyway, I'm waiting for this run to sell out and the next run to have the diodes inside the unit, sealed with epoxy like the rest of it. My bike, my girlfriend, and I are worth waiting.
