Just got off the phone with Emily at CD, I asked if they will be adding the diode inside the new units in the future and she advised me that they would just be posi-tapped between the wires just like the ones being sent to us.
She stated they are fully sealed in heat shrink and take 2 minutes to install. I'll give it a try and see how it goes.
I emailed CD today and asked about the diodes. I have CD LEDs all around inclding the ti-bar. They said, "we have not seen any issue using LEDs, however if you put your 4 Way Hazards on and turn off the bike, the rear turn signals will not flash."
They are sending me the "kit". I'll have a look at it when it comes, but think I'll be returning the whole damn thing. I waited a year for a fully plug-n-play unit. This is not what I expected or something that I feel comfortable having on my bike.
Just got a call from Emily wanting to know if I received a email about this issue, no I didn't then she went on to explain about the diodes and that I would be receiving them.
Only thing is as of now everything works just like it is suppose too...even the 4 way flashers. I have the Radianz LED for the brake turn, the Plasma Rods for run and turn the HD run and brake Tri Bar. Also have the Dual converter on the plasma rods and everything is connected via the CD Harley Universal Wiring adapter.

I bet if that is indeed the case, it will only be on the remaining units they have from this production run. I bet the next run they do of them the diode will be on the board as it should be. I guess only time will tell though.
I have no intention of installing the diode and will be sending my unit back.
Good thread! Been following since the initial post, and as soon as I saw CD was selling kit for the 2014+ I asked for a quote on a full setup of LED blinkers, lenses, tri-bar, plasma rods, etc. Basically a full outfit for the bike. But, seeing the fact they're doing posi-tapped diodes inline...no way. I don't do posi-taps in the first place because they're just begging for corrosion, and living in the northeast we get enough of that already.
When someone gets the diodes, can you see if you could cut the posi-taps out and solder them? I'm absolutely not going to risk the longevity of my electrical system, and for the amount of money I'm looking to spend there's no way I want a product that's been hastily modified. They should be soldering these and heat wrapping the joint before they're shipped out.
