The SEPST is nowhere near what the SERT used to be.

Nowhere.

The only thing they have in common is the brand.

If you want what the SERT was, you will have to look to the TTS Mastertune, which I am told now you can Vtune without having your laptop hooked up. Having the laptop on the bike is the main reason I switched brands with my new bike.

FP3 or PV2 will auto tune as easy or easier than any other out there.

Go in with the SEPST and make the 4% correction on your speedometer... oh... wait. My bad.

Smart tune and auto tune are the same thing.Harley calls it smart tune. You can use smart tune with or without a dyno.I used My tune with smart tune on My 2012 Limited and found that it seemed to tune better then the smart tune tables. But the new calibration quick sync from Harley may do the same thing. You will find that the SEPST works as well ,or better, than many of the flash tuners. All the info You need is now available in the online users manual.
I recently bought an FP3,which the settings are remarkably similar to SEPST.I am sure They exchange info. The difference in the FP3 is there are no detailed instructions for adjustments other than to auto tune. The advantage of once owning a SEPST.

I called Fuel moto when I was looking for a tuner and they suggested the Power Vision 2. That is what I went with and it is easy to use. And buying from Fuel Moto you will get free amps when ever needed. Well worth the money.

That is the same reason I went with the sepst , I didn't want to drive around with the lap top, but if the only difference is spedo correction .....?
I mean you can change a/f , ve , spark , throttle response , engine size , injector size , what else would you need?
what else is the difference between sert & sepst

Webo I have been doing the autotune and the bike still seems lean. When you want to make it richer , is it better to make the VE Table numbers higher, or adjust the AFR ?

Casbar I have been having a little difficulty getting it in tune, I had some questions in the SEPT tuning section of this fourm but no replies. what modifications do you have done to your bike?

I'm running the SEPST and love it. Had it installed with my stage 1 and run her on the dyno for about 2 hours. She runs smooth as silk and put out great numbers for a 103 stage 1 (85.5hp/104.4tq).

I think I am having problems cause I am using windows 8, it came on the computer. I am going to get a copy of windows 7 and start over.

Just to clarify:

If you want to change things like the AFR, timing tables, VE tables or any or the other stuff you can with the SEPST just like any other tuner. There is also a program called MyTune that can help you smooth the tune out and dial it in. Just search the interwebs and you will find it.

I have the SEPST tuner, my dealer did the tune without going on their dyno, & my bike runs great.

I have the SEPST fro HD, mainly because I got a screaming deal on so couldn't pass it up...Like it;s version in the past it has it's limitations but what I did that worked well for me was to use a stage one map, did a few recorded runs, remap. And it did get better...then out of curiosity I bought a copy of the MyTune program and ran new recordings, copy and past the tables, let my tune do its thing, copy them back and remap and it made a world of difference!!.....and as I'm not that great at EFI tuning, and manually fiddling with VE and timing tables is not for the novice or faint of heart, this little $30 program worked as advertised for me..

...oh...and the main difference that I found between the SERT and the SEPST was the lack of the Closed-Loop Bias table....which was pretty handy for minor upgrade adjustments
