Pretty sure if you shut off WB alerts it won't default there anymore. As KC said, the system takes awhile to read the USB Media, mine takes a minute to recognize the connected flash drive. Good luck...
Thanks for the replies. Not a huge deal just a pain in the back side and for this kind of money it would be nice to get it right. Now the latest update has caused my AVC to go haywire. Have to go in and turn it on verey time I start the bike to get the amp and the AVC to work?
Tried this as well. Waiting for the accept button to pop up all ready to start and ....weather band.
If when I turn the bike Off and the selected Mode is the USB . . . I also find that when I restart the bike the infotainment system starts on the Weather Band. I think that if the USB would load as fast, before or with the Boot sequence, it probably wouldn't be a problem. But because the USB isn't available at the time the infotainment system Boots . . . The Weather Band is the default selection. If I shut the bike Off with FM Radio selected, the FM Radio and the exact station I was tuned to are what the system starts with the next time I start the bike. You'd think someone at Harley could get basic If/Then code figured out . . . but I guess not . . .

Same here but mine starts in FM as I have the Weather Band off. USB is my #2 favorite, when I start up the 6.5 defaults to FM 94.7, my #1 favorite. I can see the USB (#2) button not lit up, it takes 10 or so seconds for the system to read it and then it lights up and I can select it, sometimes the system will change to USB and sometimes not. On my new GMC truck the system does the same thing but takes only a second or two to recognize the USB drive and then automatically goes to it (if that's what I had on before my last shutdown). Really no big deal for me...

Yup. It's all in having the correct settings selected. Lots of garage time experimenting during the winter really helps learn the system & figure out what settings give the desired results.
Turned off everything else, unplugged Ipod and seems to come up on FM now. . Will give it a few days call the dealer and so where we go from here. Still have the AVC issue. So start bike with everything off and unplugged then start plugging things in wait for accept button turn on AVC , then ride. Turnoff radio unplug ipod so the radio will come next. Hope I don't have too many stops. Not real happy hope they can do something. Probably tell me to get a new ipod or put my music on something else. Never had a probable with my old radio that this ipod was hooked to. We'll see in a few days?
i'll tell you the customer service and attention that ducati gives there owners blows harley away ten times over.
You have a warranty make them honor it
They won't warranty it for wrong settings. At least 85% of the Infotainment issues are owners not understanding the system well enough to get it set up right.

It's poorly designed, not the least bit user friendly, there's comparability issues with everything, it's not state of the art or even up to date. The processor is extremely slow and your trying to say it's the owners fault. Bullshit

Guess what - I have no issues with mine. Why? I've taken time to learn the system.
State of the art? It's the best built-in motorcycle system on the market. No other manufacturer has anything even close.
Still, it's a gen 1 system. Not unlike the first in-dash car nav systems when they first became available. They were slow, difficult to use, etc. Auto nav systems are now much better, but many of them are now gen 3 or later. It's unfair to compare stand-alone or auto in-dash systems to HD's built-in system. Name another motorcycle manufacturer that has a built-in (not add-on) system with as many features.
Only Bull$hit is your blanket warranty it statements when the problem's laziness to learn how to operate the system.
