Default Question for FP3 users

Do you leave the FP3 attached to the bike or remove it after you have flashed the ECM ?

Also I need to take my bike in for the clutch recall should I re-flash back to stock and remove the FP3 or does it not matter?

You need to leave it on for auto tune. Other than that you can remove if you want. I am bringing my bike in for the clutch issue on the 16th. I plan on leaving it alone. I don't know if they will hook into the ecm or not...I doubt they will..

As stated, the only time you need to leave it connected is for Auto Tune and also if you want to display some of the instrument settings it is capable of.
Otherwise, flash and remove.

And no need to remove it before any service work either.

Mine was all set up by the dealer as part of the new bike purchase.
So, they already know the bike has been tuned.

I have never removed it, got about 8000miles with it connected, no issues Yet.

And brought it to the dealer for 2 clutch recalls and a radio issue with it installed.

Its personal chose, sometimes i bluetooth the tuner when I'm running, its my bike and tuner, it is what it is.

I agree with everyone, leave it in if you auto tune or use the gauges. Take it out if you don't. No real issues either way.

When leaving it connected how do you secure it? Tie wrap or Velcro come to mind?

Mine did not need any additional securing. It fits nice and snug in the space behind the left side cover plus the connector has a very secure fastener.

Yep. No need for anything special. I actually just wrapped the dummy cord from the data link connector around something else in there and tucked the FP3 inside the wrapped dummy cord, easy. You really don't need to even do that as it will simply sit inside the cover with zero issues.

Ok thanks was thinking of hooking it back up to monitor some stuff and wanted to know what others were doing to secure it. I am still not sure I am going to Auto tune. It runs so well I don't want to screw anything up !

Thanks
