My clutch is way too stiff. 2015 CVO Streetglide. Didn't notice at first cause still riding the new bike high. Took the wife out on the 2010 Ultra and thought man this clutch feels 10 times better!
Any way to adjust this thing (it must be let out at least half way before engaging). Any way to loosen it up?
I agree 100%, there is no reason the pull has to be harder than a cable operated unit. Hydraulic clutches are not new and there is something very wrong with Harley thinking everyone will accept this. I have no solution and a lot of sympathy as i am in the same boat with you.
After the latest recall my clutch is a little easer or easer to brake over and feels smother the full travel. It seems easer to feather and I actually have been able to hit neutral more times than not.
After the recall before this one or the second one it did not feel any different and seemed to have a little tricky spot before full in gauge. Maybe you will get a recall notice after this first group of bikes are completed.
The CVO's have a different clutch than the standard baggers. The "assist and slip" clutch. My Limited Low has it too. Mine is fine, not too stiff, but the engagement is all the way out at the end of the lever travel. It didn't used to be that way, but I bled the line in an attempt to get more clutch throw & quiet the first gear KLANK. Did neither. I actually prefered the little bit mushy feel it had before.
At the dealer the other day I went down the line of identical (except for color) baggers & tried the clutch. Most all felt about the same, but one felt VERY nice. No reason for it I can come up with.
